Default Starting in Elona as Rt or A?

I wondered if it would be possible, and i can't find if it's been said already officially or not

Campaign specific professions can *only* be started from their core continent. You can take an Assassin or Ritualist into Nightfall from Factions, but starting them from Elona is not possible. The same goes for starting Paragons or Dervishes in Factions or Prophecies.

while you cant start a *new* assassin or rit, I am definately looking forward to using both in Nightfall asap... my rit wont change too much (usually run all-rit skills), but my assassin is eagerly awaiting spear mastery for my Crit Spear

As said in this thread, YES, you CAN create Assassins and Ritualists in Elona, but ONLY IF you own Factions.

I'll believe it when I see it. (In game that is.)

Seems like you got here first..and why thank you .

Look a little below the halfway point in the chatlog, Gaile said that you CANT create assassins and ritualist in Elona soley, but you CAN if you own Factions.

Dont know where the above posters got the idea that certain classes are chapter specific anyways..Anet never said that.

I do agree though with the comment that paragons and dervishes wont be able to be made in previous chapters, but I do believe they too will be available in chapter 4 along with Factions classes.

The reason as I see it is because it would be too much of a hassle for the developing team to go back to all the previous chapters..They would need to redo a LOT of dialogue, quest, newbie-zones, weapons, skill trainers, quest rewards, armor, etc, etc.

With new chapters though, they can put it right in smoothly as they go along.

I read it and it doesn't say, "yes definately you can make them in nightfall" it just says that they are chapter specific and you can't make them unless you own factions.

Yeah thats all I see as well. I was hoping for a clearer answer.

I have a hard time believing that we could make them in Elona if we couldn't do it during the recent preview event.

She said, "No, if you do not own Factions you will not be able to create Assassins or Ritualist in Nightfall."

You may be right, but the wording in that seems to imply that you can create it if you own Factions..with a subsitute of opposites for a couple words:

"Yes (no), if you do (not) own Factions you will (not) be able to create Assassins and (or) Ritualist in Nightfall."

Lol

To the post above mine, yeah I can see your point, so this may be true. You also need to remember that it was a beta test, mainly to stress the servers, test new skills, the new profession, etc. and that we were also indeed missing many things in that preview.

It's true, the answer doesn't seem to be as clear as it could be however, so I guess we need to wait 4 more days and see.

That's my feeling.

Long story short, don't count on it.

Honestly, if she meant that you simply can't create Assassins and Ritualists in Nightfall at all, why does she say "If you do not own Factions..."? There would be no need to even say that part. Keep in mind, she's talking about the actual character creation, here, not whether or not we can bring our characters over.

EDIT: To me, that's clear confirmation. Although I don't personally care since I will be bringing my Canthan Ritualist over, and I don't plan on creating an Assassin.

I was wondering, because, there are not any Core Skills in the Rt or A skill panel. Only Factions skills and Nightfall Skills. So for an hypothetic Elonian Rt, I can't believe he'll only have access to the Nightfall skills if he stays in Elona.

There weren't any core skills for the 'core' professions until Factions came out, either.

Personally I'm in the boat with those who think "no". But honestly it isn't clear. Besides Gaile (in that very chat log?) said a number of things which, when queried later, turned out to be poor wording or a misunderstanding of the things she had seen in the dev servers.

My feeling about being able to create these two profession in Elona... Not good. The character creation screen is crowded enough as it is, why add more? And no, I don't want arrows, I want all my selections in front of me.

How's this for clear......If you own factions, then you can make a rit or sin in Nightfall. If you don't have factions, then you can't make a rit or a sin.

Culturally, the Assasin and Ritualist are specific to Cantha. You will not be able to create Ass or Rits in Nightfall. I would bet money on it.

You can create them in Cantha and move them to Elona, but those classes are specific to Cantha born citezens. Just as Derv and Parg will be for Elona born only.

Anyone whant to take me up on my bet?

Well for the people saying they don't think there will be sin's or rits in nightfall because of the world preview.. well, think about it. Why would anet want to show of assasins in nightffall if it was a 'nightfall' preview?

Wouldn't that be giving free factions content for those who were allowed to play the preview who didn't have factions? Isn't anet (well probably ncsoft) known for being strict with not allowing you to have free content from other gw titles? :P

I'll take that bet, how much we talking here? GW money of course. If you have factions, then you will be able to make a sin and rit in Elonia.
